New Date! "Painting Energy" Members Lecture and Reception
Join artist Bhasha Chakrabarti as she explores artmaking as a process of mending—both literally and metaphorically. Challenging the traditional view of mending as a mundane act, Chakrabarti transforms it into a creative gesture that confronts fragility, vulnerability, and impermanence.
Artists Ann Craven and Jay Stern come together for a conversation on their creative processes and inspirations. Craven, known for her vibrant, emotive paintings, explores themes of nature, memory, and repetition. Stern’s expressive oil paintings delve into memory, time, and transformation, offering a layered perspective on artistic expression.
Featuring floral work by designers, artists, farmers, and florists from across southern Maine, the museum comes alive with fragrant blooms, extravagant displays, and incredible floral installations of all types—each inspired by an artwork from the museum’s collection.
Alongside curators and experts, we’ll see these very wonders up close, going behind the velvet ropes of the Smithsonian Museums and other cherished collections. Each day promises remarkable access and moments of inspiration to ignite your passion for the arts.

In this virtual gallery talk from the Brandywine River Museum of Art, Victoria Wyeth will explore her grandfather, Andrew Wyeth's fascinating depictions of winter, one of the artist's favorite seasons. Wyeth sought to capture the mystery presented by this time of year, noting that: "I prefer winter...when you feel the bone structure in the landscape.... Something waits beneath it – the whole story doesn’t show."
