El Lobo y La Paloma (Premiere)

El Lobo y La Paloma captures an original live performance interweaving flamenco dance, Arabic music and song, poetry, and projected imagery to explore the experience of losing a loved one and the mystical connections between physical and spiritual worlds. This performance, an artistic collaboration by flamenco dancers Lindsey Bourassa and Megan Keogh, Canadian-Iranian painter Khosro Berahmandi, Kuwaiti singer Talal Alzefiri, and oud player Thomas Kovacevic, has been beautifully documented and recreated by Maine filmmakers David Camlin and Scott Sutherland.

The film will be followed by a brief presentation by grief and bereavement educator Carol Schoneberg of Hospice of Southern Maine, as well as a Q & A with Carol Schoneberg, filmmakers, and performers. A portion of the proceeds from this event will support the work of Hospice of Southern Maine.
