Changing The Collection: Isamu Noguchi's Play Sculpture

Support from the Council have been behind some of our most visible new acquisitions lately, from Robert Indiana’s SEVEN in 2014 to Isamu Noguchi’s Play Sculpture this past summer.

Whenever you see an artwork at the museum with an “Open-Ended Museum” label, you see your membership at work.

Just as humans seek out new experiences, new knowledge, and new connections, the PMA continues to build its collection through gifts and purchases to tell a deeper, more interconnected, and more inclusive story about the many histories of art. For the PMA, the process of continuing to build the collection is a vital aspect of institutional identity and the continued vibrancy of artistic programming.

Open-Ended labels highlight many of the spectacular new objects that join the PMA's collection each year, and provide the opportunity demonstrate how your support builds a stronger collection.
