A poetic and colorful day into night offering guided and self-guided poetry prompts following the spirit of exchange, and beauty of creating space where visual art and poetry meet.

Created in the Moment with @typewriterchicana. Have an on-the-spot poem written for you. Then create your own with spontaneity.  

Stevie Trevino is a live typewriter poet based in Portland, Maine. She is the creator of Stevie’s Poem Store, an interactive performance art pop-up that brings the co-creative experience of spontaneous typewriter poetry to public spaces and private events. Participants receive a custom poem created for them in the moment. Stevie’s inspirations include transpersonal experiences, Jungian psychology, nature, and time.

Ekphrastic writing workshop with the Trans Poetic Archive  

6:30 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. | FREE

For this ekphrastic writing workshop, poets t love Smith and Jude Marx we’ll begin with an introduction to the history of ekphrasis—the practice of writing in response to visual art. Participants will then spend time in the galleries exploring a variety of paintings from the exhibition, using them as prompts for generative writing. The workshop will close with an opportunity to share new pieces inspired by the art on view.
