PMA360: A New Movement

Sculpture and Movement with Portland Ballet Company

Two of Portland’s finest cultural institutions come together in surprising ways when the Portland Ballet Company and the PMA collaborate on this one-night-only event full of life, art, and movement. The artists in A New American Sculpture, 1914-1945: Lachaise, Laurent, Nadelman, and Zorach were inspired by the vibrancy of the popular dance and performance culture in America, and used dancers, acrobats, and circus performers as their models. Dancers from the Portland Ballet Company bring this inspiration and motif to vivid life when they join us in the galleries to help convey the sculpture’s language of movement and grace.

Dance performances at 5:45 p.m., 6:30 p.m., and 7 p.m.
