Anita Kim, Untitled

July 5, 2023

This line of work is inspired by the stages of grief and the emotions that a person holds within. Wire and mirrors is consistent material throughout each piece to represent how malleable and vulnerable emotions are and how grief is hard to face straight on. Denial, denial about accepting what has now become a reality and breaking out into anger pushing yourself into a deep hole of isolation. Grief is experienced internationally and this project was to present the unexplainable emotions and pain, no amount of words or visuals can explain the feeling, but I am hoping this abstract sculpture that was long and thought through can give a sense of movement on the emotions of grief.
