New Hires
Hassan Hamour has accepted the position of Gallery Officer. Under the general supervision of Faiz Mohammad, Director of Protection Services and Protection Services, Hassan is responsible for ensuring the security and safety of the PMA’s personnel and visitors, the museum’s collection, and the physical plant. Hassan started work at the PMA on November 26.
Promotions & Position Changes
The Communications staff is excited announce some structural changes and promotions:
Bob Ker has been promoted to Director of Brand Management. In this role, Bob will oversee the Communications’ project management and design teams, working to develop and implement creative strategies and consistent communications to support and strengthen the PMA brand.
Cecilia Ziko has been promoted to Design Manager. In this role, Cecilia oversee the design staff, including a new Production Designer position as well as the MECA Design Shadow partnership, ensuring the design staff develops creative design solutions that support the PMA brand, strategic initiatives and campaigns, exhibitions, programs, and events.
The Communications staff is also beginning a search for a new position. Under the direction of the Design Manager, the Production Designer will assist with the production of the PMA’s publications, printed materials, exhibition graphics, business communications, and web and multi-media marketing, supporting museum goals for audience development, communications, constituent relationships, and maximizing revenue.
Please take a moment to congratulate Bob and Cecilia on their new roles when you see them, and thank you for your partnership!
Reminders
The 2020 PMA Holiday List and Hours of Operation is now available. It is published to the staff website, posted on the staff bulletin boards, attached here, and available from Human Resources upon request.
2019 Performance Assessments are coming soon. All employees are invited to complete self-assessments by January 24, 2020. Expect forms to be arriving in the coming weeks.
All new staff are invited to take a docent-led Highlights Tour of the PMA before the PMA changes to winter hours on January 13, 2020. This tour is part of every PMA employee’s new hire training. Please coordinate a tour with your supervisor.

Work on the Clapp House chimney will begin on Scaffolding will be installed today and Friday. We expect this project to take 5 to 6 weeks. Please use care and be aware of contractors working if you are near that area.

Reminder: Staff are always welcome to send Jen Graves (Executive Administrator in the Director’s Office) announcements regarding your creative activities—such as exhibitions you are in, concerts, etc.—so that they can be shared with your fellow staff!
