Holding the Light:

Holding the Light: Contemporary Wabanaki Photography brings together work by eight Wabanaki photographers: Maya Tihtiyas Attean, Nolan Altvater, Danikah Chartier, Nate Gaffney, Jared Lank, Ann Pollard Ranco, Lokotah Sanborn, and Desmond Simon. 

Working across photography, film, installation, and cyanotype, these artists draw on a long history of Wabanaki visual art and storytelling while using contemporary forms to picture life today. Their work considers land, identity, family, and community, reflecting cultures that are living, evolving, and shaped by the people who belong to them.
