February 23–27, 2027

Join the Portland Museum of Art in Los Angeles for an exclusive four-night experience exploring the city’s vibrant contemporary art scene.

Centered around Frieze Los Angeles, this special program will include VIP fair access, curator-led conversations, private artist studio visits, and exclusive behind-the-scenes experiences at some of Los Angeles’s most important cultural institutions.

Travel alongside Mark Bessire, Judy and Leonard Lauder Executive Director, and Sayantan Mukhopadhyay, Associate Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, for a thoughtfully curated exploration of one of the world’s most dynamic cultural capitals.

A highlight of the trip will be a special visit to the new David Geffen Galleries at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA)—one of the most significant museum projects of its kind in recent years.

The new building offers a bold reimagining of how museum collections can be displayed and experienced. For PMA supporters, the visit will be particularly timely as the Museum advances its own campus transformation through the PMA Blueprint Project.

Throughout the trip, we’ll explore the opportunities and challenges facing museums today, from architecture and expansion to audience engagement and the evolving role of cultural institutions in civic life.

Guests will also experience Los Angeles through Sayantan Mukhopadhyay’s unique perspective. Before joining PMA, Sayantan lived, studied, and worked in Los Angeles, developing deep connections to the city’s artists, institutions, and creative communities. His firsthand knowledge will offer a special window into the people, places, and ideas shaping contemporary art in Los Angeles today.
