  • Maine Audubon has worked to conserve Maine’s wildlife and wildlife habitat by engaging people in education, conservation, and action.  

  • Maine Coast Heritage Trust is a nonprofit land conservation organization protecting and caring for vital lands on the coast of Maine. 

  • The Nature Conservancy - Maine has grown to become one of the most effective and wide-reaching environmental organizations in the world. 

  • Manomet uses science and collaboration to strengthen bird migration routes, coastal ecosystems, and working lands and seas across the Western Hemisphere.  

  • State of Maine has Maine's four-year climate plan packed with actionable strategies and goals to emit less carbon, produce energy from renewable sources and protect our natural resources, communities and people from the effects of climate change. 

  • Coastal Program is established to conserve and develop marine and estuarine resources; to conduct and sponsor scientific research; to promote and develop the Maine coastal fishing industries; to advise and cooperate with local, state, and federal officials concerning activities in coastal waters; and to implement, administer, and enforce the laws and regulations necessary for these purposes. 

  • Natural Areas Program facilitates conservation of Maine’s biodiversity by providing comprehensive information and scientific expertise on at-risk species, natural ecosystems, wildlife habitats, ecological reserves, and invasive plants to landowners, developers, resource managers, towns, and other conservation partners. 

  • Inland Fisheries and Wildlife preserves, protects, and enhances the inland fisheries and wildlife resources of the state.  

  • Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and the Future serves as a key coordinator, working collaboratively with other State agencies and stakeholders to address critical long-term issues facing the State of Maine. 

  • New England Forestry Foundation works to protect forests, wildlife habitat, clean air and water, for future generations. 

  • National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Climate.gov mission is to provide science and information for a climate-smart nation. 

  • Gulf of Maine Research Institute are dedicated to the resilience of the Gulf of Maine ecosystem and the communities that depend on it. They support solutions that will broadly benefit the bioregion and its diverse communities over generations to come.
