LAIKAFest: The Boxtrolls

During Winter Break, the Portland Museum of Art is celebrating the work of LAIKA, the innovative stop-motion animation studio with screenings of all of their feature-length films, CORALINE (December 27th), PARANORMAN (December 28th), THE BOXTROLLS (December 29th), and KUBO & THE TWO STRINGS (December 30th). All screenings are FREE for ages 16 and under.Orphaned at infancy, Eggs (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) was raised by Boxtrolls, underground dwellers who scavenge the streets of Cheesebridge by night. A surprise encounter with a human girl (Elle Fanning) leads to unexpected discoveries about his mysterious past and his imprisoned real father.
