Stunning black-and-white photography and the traditional music of Ireland come together in this gorgeous film. Joe Heaney was one of the greats of the traditional Irish singing known as sean nós. Shaped by the myths, fables, and songs of his upbringing in the west of Ireland, his emergence as a gifted artist came at a personal cost. This film, which features performances from a wide range of traditional Irish musicians and haunting imagery of Heaney's homeland, is a distinct portrait of his life and a marvelous exploration of music and song.
