Canoe builder and 2018 PMA Biennial artist Steve Cayard, who created the canoe in the Biennial along with late artist and craftsman David Moses Bridges, joins Penobscot Nation Tribal Historian James Francis to discuss the history, tradition, and ultimate reclamation of the Wabanaki birchbark canoe.

At least until she’s convinced by her niece, Mika, to enroll in an unorthodox English class that requires her to wear a blonde wig and take on an American alter ego named “Lucy.”
