Pop Up Studio: The Artist's Palette

Pop Up Studio: The Artist's Palette

Discover the feeling of falling in love with the painted surface through these guided activities. Standing at an artist’s easel with a palette of colors, you’re invited to join in the fun of mixing pigments to transform them into gold fringe, satin, feathers and clouds. The PMA’s Assistant Director for Family and Studio Learning will be available to offer suggestions and encouragement for those who would like it. Visit Treasures of British Art 1400–2000: The Berger Collection to see the paintings from the artist’s point of view: wonder at the swirling brushwork of a John Constable sky, the mastery and precision of a Hans Holbein portrait, and the moods evoked by Thomas Gainsborough.
