PMA360 presents: "The Art of Paper"

The inaugural edition of PMA360, a new series as part of Free Friday that introduces innovative ways to engage with the museum, through special guests, exclusive gallery experiences, craft cocktails, and more! It's a new way to PMA.

Here are some of the many things that are going on as part as the first PMA360, inspired by the exhibition Masterworks on Paper: Highlights from the Portland Museum of Art.

Gallery Explorations: Pigments on Paper
Meet in the Selma Wolf Black Great Hall

Explore the galleries in new ways with the strange, humorous, and surprising stories of pigments and color,
with Associate Educator for Gallery Learning Phillippa Pitts.

5:30 p.m.

Quilling Demo with Sarah Yakawonis

Join artist Sarah Yakawonis to explore the properties of paper through the art of quilling – a technique where paper strips
are rolled, looped, curled, to create unique shapes and designs.

The Boston Typewriter Orchestra
Gillian Rotunda (near the Grant statue)

The Boston Typewriter Orchestra is a collective endeavor which engages in rhythmic typewriter manipulation,
combined with elements of performance, comedy and satire.
