PMA Biennial artist Jenny McGee Dougherty leads families in a hands-on project inspired by her colorful and graphic mural Debris. She will demonstrate different techniques for arranging cut-out textures and colors using various 2-D materials, and will be on hand to answer questions about the process behind her mural.

Jenny McGee Dougherty is a visual artist and arts educator who explores opportunities for youth to express themselves in a creative and openended way. Her hope is that these expressive experiences inspire youth to think differently beyond the act of making. As a visual artist, she works as a muralist, textile designer, and painter, bringing community into her practice on every level.

Family programming is made possible in part by the Peggy L. Osher Education Endowment at the Portland Museum of Art.
