PMA Family Days: "A Company of Girls"

PMA Family Days: "A Company of Girls"

Learn about the artistic processes teen artists used to create one-of-a-kind pieces of apparel inspired by works in the Portland Museum of Art. Visit the galleries to view their dresses displayed in front of the art that inspired them. The artists will then help you make your own art or apparel design inspired by the PMA collection. After you choose a work from the collection, they’ll help you create a series of visual interpretations through writing, sketching, pastels, and collage.

A Company of Girls is an award-winning, nationally recognized afterschool resiliency and mentorship program that uses visual, performing, and culinary arts as a basis for youth empowerment.

Families will always find welcoming staff and worlds to explore at the Portland Museum of Art, but PMA Family Days are uniquely devoted to those with young children. Come when you want, and stay as long as you want. Let’s have some fun. All activities are free with museum admission. Children under 14 are always free. Students receive the discounted price of $10.

PMA Family Days run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
