Art-Tender Night at Five Fifty-Five

Art-Tender Night at Five Fifty-Five

Join Five Fifty-Five for a special happy hour inspired by You Can’t Get There From Here: The 2015 Portland Museum of Art Biennial. Sip on “The Maine Allure,” a tart, refreshing, and visually stunning cocktail curated by 555’s bar aficionado Lori Leonard, while guest “art-tender” Jennifer DePrizio, the PMA’s Peggy L. Osher Director of Learning and Interpretation, stirs up conversation on contemporary art in Maine.

You Can’t Get There From Here: The 2015 Portland Museum of Art Biennial highlights Maine’s artistic legacies in the making. Curated by Alison Ferris, this year’s Biennial provides an exciting overview of Maine’s contemporary art scene, including paintings, digital art, photography, sculpture, Wabanaki baskets and more. The exhibition will be on view through January 3, 2016.

“The Maine Allure” is a special cocktail created by 555’s Lori Leonard, who was inspired by 2015 PMA Biennial artist Lois Dodd and her paintings, Two Trees, Afternoon Light (2014) and Two Trees + Midday Light (2014).
