The 2016 Photo Fund Lecture

"Landscape Seen and Imagined" by Clifford Ross

Join us this spring for the PMA’s annual Photography Fund Lecture with presenter Clifford Ross. Following an early career in painting and sculpture, Ross began his photographic work in 1994. He reached a major milestone with his Hurricane series, begun in 1996. The large-scale, black-and-white images depict dramatic ocean waves shot by Ross during hurricanes while in the water and tethered to an assistant on land. Ross is renowned for his high-resolution, single-shot landscape photographs, which have been exhibited throughout the world. A solo exhibition, Landscape Seen and Imagined, opened at MASS MoCA in North Adams, Massachusetts in May 2015.

All proceeds from this lecture benefit the PMA’s Photography Fund, which is the museum’s fund for acquisition and conservation of the photography collection and related programming.

Space is limited. Advance tickets are highly recommended.
