DESCRIPTION:Discover the printmaking process behind the exhibition Winslow Homer: Painter\, Etcher. Printmaker Winslow Trainum demonstrates the art of intaglio printmaking\, inking an etched copper plate\, wiping it by hand\, and running it through a traditional press to reveal an image transferred from plate to paper. \n\n\n\nWorking from his studio at Prouts Neck\, Maine\, Homer created a remarkable series of etchings that showcased both technical skill and his enduring fascination with the sea. This live demonstration brings that process to life\, offering a rare opportunity to see how an etched image emerges from a copper plate. A limited number of prints will be available as take-home souvenirs. \n\n\n\nAbout Winslow Trainum Winslow Trainum (Winslow Loves You!) is a community-based printmaker born and raised in Charlottesville\, Virginia\, while currently working out of Portland\, Maine. Throughout his work\, Winslow uses experimental printmaking techniques with an emphasis on etching and silkscreen to provide proof of magic in printmaking and tell stories of unreal dimensions. In his senior year at Maine College of Art & Design\, Winslow worked alongside Ramey Mize\, curator of Winslow Homer: Painter\, Etcher as a curatorial intern\, using his expertise in etching to consult and collaborate on the exhibition.
