The PMA Store is open during regular museum hours.
Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday: 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Thursday and Friday: 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Take paper-dolls to the next level by making your own with instruction from artist Bridget McAlonan. Create simple or complex moveable paper doll puppets using new and recycled materials. Use your dolls as toys, pieces of art, or create multiple and make your own shadow puppet show – you can gather inspiration and learn how artists have drawn people over the years by checking out our exhibition Masterworks on Paper: Highlights from the Portland Museum of Art.
Families will always find welcoming staff and worlds to explore at the Portland Museum of Art, but PMA Family Days are uniquely devoted to those with children. Do you still have tots in the stroller? Try our sensory art cards, which provide developmentally appropriate prompts for even the youngest visitors. You can also pick up one of our interactive (and silly!) gallery games or cozy up in an exhibition with a cushion and one of our storybooks. Come when you want, and stay as long as you want. Let’s have some fun. Children 14 and under are always free. Student admission is $10.
PMA Family Days run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
