Educators from the PMA and Maine Audubon bring you a Family Day that explores both the scientific and artistic sides of Maine animals and habitats. Inspired by works from our collection and the installation Modern Menagerie, we’ll use literature, storytelling, art making, and scientific inquiry to deepen our understanding of Maine-specific species and natural habitats. Join us for all-ages gallery talks or a special tour for young learners ages 3-5 years.

The Winslow Homer High School Fellows will lead a day of Winslow Homer-inspired activities, art projects, and gallery talks. Gain inspiration through close observation of Homer’s paintings and etchings and then create works of art inspired by the sea. Over the summer of 2015, the Fellows were hired to create new opportunities for youth engagement while learning about Homer’s life and work.
