The PMA Pop Up Studio transforms a visit to the PMA from one that is based primarily in the observation of art to one that is also based in the creation of art. This week, we invite kids and their caregivers to create 3D paper flowers and add them to our collaborative bouquets. Next, use colorful pastels to draw a still-life of your creation to take home.

The PMA is growing. As the museum evolves into a truly 21st-century institution, we want to hear from as many voices as we can—and no voice is more important to us than those who actually grew up in the 21st century. If you are between the ages of 14 and 18, we'd like to hear from you. This Call for Teens involves a brief gallery tour and discussion about future events and what is possible at the PMA. Bring your ideas. Tell us who you are, and what you'd like to see. And yes, there will be snacks.

Families will always find welcoming staff and worlds to explore at the Portland Museum of Art, but PMA Family Days are uniquely devoted to those with young children. Grab an interactive family guide to the museum. Look, listen, and share during gallery talks designed especially for kids and their adults. Make your own art through individual and collaborative projects at PMA Pop-Up Studios. Keep your eyes open for special guests and collaborators from the Maine community. PMA Family Days have something for all ages and interests, and remember—children 12 and under always get into the PMA for free. Come when you want, and stay as long as you want. Let’s have some fun.
