Barnet Scholar's Weekend Members-Only Coffee and Culture

Karen Lemmey, Curator of Sculpture at the Smithsonian American Art Museum

The PMA is thrilled to welcome Karen Lemmey, Curator of Sculpture at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, to be our visiting scholar as part of the Barnet Scholar’s Weekend. PMA members are invited to join Lemmey in the PMA Café for an hour of coffee and conversation, followed by a lecture.

The weekend focuses on the development of direct carving—a modernist approach to sculpture pioneered by artists such as Robert Laurent and William Zorach. Lemmey’s visit marks the fourth installment of the Barnet Scholar’s weekend, which is dedicated to the study, interpretation, and exploration of key topics in American modernism.

Free for members. Call (207) 775-6148 to make reservations.
