Graphic Design Internship
This paid position, 12-16 hours per week from September, 2008 through January 31, 2009, is responsible for creatively and efficiently working with the Graphic Design and Publications Manager and staff on the design and production of Museum publications and printed materials including but not limited to: gallery guides, brochures, advertisements, exhibition-related educational and marketing pieces, and signage and wayfinding materials.
Responsibilities:
1. Effectively work with Graphic Design and Publications Manager, other Museum staff and outside vendors on the design and production of a variety of printed materials for the Museum.
2. Familiarity with and adherence to all security policies.
3. Comply with all PMA safety rules and procedures.
4. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Two years of graphic design experience using Macintosh OSX.
· Fluent with Adobe Creative Suite programs particularly InDesign.
· Graphic design or new media student preferred.
· Strong communications (oral and written), organizational skills, multi-tasking abilities, and careful attention to detail.
· Ability to work independently under deadline pressure and cooperatively and productively with co-workers.
· Ability to pass criminal background check.
