New Acquisitions 2007
December 8, 2007 - February 10, 2008

Each winter provides the opportunity to look back on and celebrate the Museum’s art acquisitions from the preceding year. New Acquisitions 2007 is a special exhibition that highlights works of art acquired by the Museum since late 2006. The Maine landscape serves as inspiration for many of the works that entered the collection during this time. Artwork by Frances Hynes and John Walker, Harrison Bird Brown, and others demonstrate the compelling appeal of the subject over the last century. Other collection highlights in the past year include photography, contemporary prints, an array of German Expressionist prints and acquisitions from the 2007 Portland Museum of Art Biennial, including works by Tanja Hollander and Jeff Kellar.
